No Better Way to Fish - With Family & Friends

We knew ahead of time that on Saturday, 9/1/07, the winds were going to come out of the northeast at speeds of 15 knots.  It's tough to get any cover with winds coming out of that direction, but we found a little in Eastern Bay, just enough to keep us fishing with some catching.

The 1st fish was caught by Julian Mirow, an exchange student from Germany

Around noon the winds calmed down so we headed out on the Chesapeake Bay to find nothing but 200 or more large gulls sitting on the north end of Popular Island.  After checking a few other locations, no fish were found, so we headed back into Eastern Bay before the wind picked up again.

The Signs of a Good Lunch

On the way back to the ramp we crossed a school of mixed stripers and bluefish.  Everyone was hooking-up on each drift before the school moved.

Techniques: Bottom fishing with a top/bottom rigs with Fishbite and vertical jigging spoons, soft plastic baits, with teasers.

The Crew
Luke Peterson, Julian Mirow, Joel Peterson, Tim Keeler and John Keeler

Fishing Tip:  Before leaving the dock install a PFD (personal floatation device) for safety sakes.

Special Thanks:  I have known John Keeler since 2001 and have come to understand the saying "Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, teach him to fish - you feed him for life".  John, you have taught your family and many of your friends how to fish.
