They're Here, There, and Everywhere...

...fish that is!

Finally, after cancelling trip after trip because of small craft warnings, Sunday, November 4, 2007 was fishable.  George Lenard, George Hussey, and Carl Onesty met me at the ramp at 7:00am EST with their rods fully rigged to catch some striped bass or bluefish.  I planned the trip according to the maximum current flow on the eastern side of the Chesapeake Bay.

We saw quite a few flocks of working birds, over deep water, as we crossed the Bay.  The wind blowing against the tide, making it unsafe to fish these birds, so we moved into a tributary where the water was almost flat...and the birds were feeding.  Catching went on until slack tide when we took a break to eat lunch.

George Lenard landed the above striper on one of his 1 oz. Li'l Bunker in Hot Pink.  This spoon is concaved giving it great action.  I hope my order arrives before I head to the CBBT this month. (2 days left to book-Nov 15 & 16)

Fishing Tip: This time of year the water becomes very cold.  Make sure you have on a pair of waterproof shoes or boots on just in case any water enters your boat.

NOTE:  I will be giving a Lecture Series in Feb 2008.  All information will be on PowerPoint Slides and I'll explain, in detail, how to put a full day trip together using a Current NOT Tide.  This will allow you to be in the most productive waters, at specific times, to catch more fish.
