Tom Hughes Guide Service Light Tackle & Fly Fishing the Chesapeake Bay |
This past February, the Upper Bay Chapter of the
Maryland CCA sponsored a banquet. Auction items were donated to raise money for
the newly formed chapter. One of the many donations was a guided fishing trip
with Captain Tom Hughes. UBCCA member and friend Ted Johnson was the successful
bidder for this trip.
My thanks to Ted for inviting me along for the fun. Due to Ted’s heavy work
schedule, he’s either always in court (he’s an attorney, not a defendant) or
prepping for court, making it difficult for him to get away. He finally got a
short break this past Monday, July 2, so off we went.
In the morning, we had swells 3’-4’ but the twin-vee handled them effortlessly.
I was surprised how stable a vessel his 22’ is. Captain Tom’s a great guide.
"By last count, we bailed about 80 fish." My arm hurts so much, I
won’t be able to do yard work for at least 3 weeks!
I would like to thank Captain Tom Hughes for making such a generous donation. He
gave up his time and resources to help make the banquet a success.
