This is an excellent time of the year to catch a quantity of striped bass or bluefish on or just below top water. The Spanish mackerel show up at times, on the Middle Chesapeake Bay. If you're a fly angler chasing and catching a cow nose ray can test your angling skills. The stripers range between 16" and 24" with an occasional big one being caught. There are days when floating line with a popper is the ticket all day long. Light spinning tackle will catch them using lures from top to bottom. |
